Here's a List of FAQ
If you have any suggested questions post below and I'll try to add those that is most requested : )

Basic Digital Painting Questions

Q: What tools do you use

A: I use Photoshop CS 6, and I work on a cintiq 21 UX

Q: What do you recommend for someone who wants to get into digital art?
A:
For programs that I've used and would recommend are 1. paint tool sai, it's a very user friendly and it's very affordable! you can also try using Photoshop CS (any version) they are both great software to start with.

Q: can you recommend a tablet?

A: yes, if it's for fun, I think any wacom bamboo tablets will do the trick, if you want to be more serious with this, then I would go with any of the wacom intuos tablets : )

Q: How do you make the skin so soft?
A:it's not really a secret but I use the airbrush in PS CS 6 a lot to blend,

Q: what brushes do you use?
A: My latest brushes can be find here

Q:What canvas size do you recommend?
A: I usually paint at the minimum of 1200 pixel wide or height, I like to go up to 8k pixel at times just to put extra details : ) The bigger the canvas the better you can add details to your work.

Q:How long does it take you to paint something?

A: It depends, a portraits would take me 1-3 hrs while a full painting could take me up to 24 hrs

Q: what's you process?
A:I paint everything digitaly in photoshop. I usually just go straight with color blocking. sometimes I like to start off with a digital sketch and then paint over it.

Q:How do you paint, I can't get my stuff to look awesome ;w;

A: there's no magic that can make your drawings look awesome right away, it really takes a lot of practice, experimenting, and hard work so don't give up, and keep at it : )

That's all the FAQ for now, I 'll try to update it everyday. I still have lots of FAQ to post here, but it'd take me hrs if I decide to do it in one day, sorry for the wait guys ;w;

Konbanwa Sakimichan,

Would you mind adding an FAQ about whether or not you take commission work, and if so, how to obtain a rate sheet or contact you about it?  I see that this is a popular question to ask you in comments and I don't see it answered anywhere on Deviant.

I would like to discuss a possible project with you.

Domo.

Did you attend an art school at any point in your life, or are you  self taught? If you have then where did you study? :)

I've noticed a picture or two of yours has been posted to the website Tickld. I wasn't for sure what your policy on that was, but the user(s) don't seem to be claiming your work as their own, and your signature is still intact. Just wanted to give you a heads up since I noticed.

Oh, can I ask a question?
Will you be planning on doing an art book? It would be expensive to buy your art as prints - but I love collecting art books and your work is so amazing I'd adore having a book full of it.

Question to add (please let me know if you actually do add this in):

What would you suggest as far as learning Photoshop (cs5 because that's what I have access to) if you've previously worked with Paint Tool SAI for a year or two?  Any specific tutorials/books/videos/other that helped you/could help us photoshop newbies along the steep learning curve?

Thanks so much!!!!

Wacom changed the naming system for their tablets... Bamboo doesn't exist anymore (they're reserving the name for their styli), so even the most basic tablet is called Intuos. What used to be Intuos in the old naming system is now known as Intuos Pro. =D Just to avoid confusion for anyone looking for a Wacom tablet now. I know I was confused when I was looking last November.

what computer spec do you recommend/use?

Do you bother with conception on paper or do you work straight from your mind to the 'paper'?

not really a question but it would be cool to see a time laps video of your process.

can i just say, iv'e discovered about the skin, that while your painting, its not only the airbrush only that does the trick, its actually the opacity, never paint with a low opacity under 80% makes u show a lot of brush strokes that shouldn't be there, some strokes are needed but those will make your skin image look as messy as ever. iv'e just learned this and hopefully i will learn to apply it, just a tip for those who are like me and wonder why they can't get that smooth texture! hope it was helpful, and lovely FAQ a lot of useful info thanks for sharing!
