This was a simply amazing piece. You've made me see Death Note (one of my favorite anime) in a completely new light (no pun intended). I've never seen these sides to Light and L, and your perspective of them is very original and captivating. The lighting against both characters was very accurate and powerful. Also, your attention to detail, especially in Light's scythe, was spot-on. Even the wall in the background seems real, and the texture looks like I can reach in the picture and touch it's rough, cracked surface.
I am thoroughly impressed and wish you the best of luck in the future.
This is a truly beautiful piece, but I feel as thought this pose and Idea is a bit overdone. Although you executioned it beautifully, I feel as though I've seen this picture many times before. The shading is done very well. What I dislike, it the blue surrounding L's Left side. It looks out of place, as though he's glowing on that side. It is especially noticeable when you compare it to Light, who looks as though a red light is shining on him. the background at first seems interesting, but after having a good long look at the piece, I grew to hate it. The white vortex surrounding the Death note is not only odd, but doesn't fit into the picture and frankly, ugly. A better effect would maybe have been to have a light shining out from the death note itself. This piece is gorgeous in its details, and I can spend a lot of time roaming form the folds in the clothes, to the wings, and back up to the face, but, what bothers me the most, is the complete lack of this detail in the hands, parts of the scythe, and L's apple. They look as though they were added last minute in a haste, and were not blended and sophisticatedly as the rest of the piece. Especially on L's Left side. Now, for what I love about this piece- as I said before- is the gorgeous detail. The folds in the clothes and the hair is what really gets me. I think they are done so realistically with great color choices that they draw me in. My favorite is Light's hair flowing. I feel as though it'd be feather soft to the touch. Now to talk about the characters, I really like the way you posed them. I think Light's headstrong pose and tilted face fits his character perfectly, aswell as L's relaxed stance and blank face with a bit of intrigue. The main difference is Light draws you in more whereas L's expression makes you want to look away from him and see what he's peering at. Of course, after a minute or two, I did go back to L, but he was just not as eye catching as Light. L wearing the backpack confused me a little, but it is your artistic choice on what he wears. And on a fangirl note, I loved Lights chest. LOVED IT. Not only is it hot, but well done! Overall, I loved this piece, and the effort and time you put into it is obvious! Great job, and I hope to see more like it! I didn't proofread this much, so I'm sorry for any mistakes!
